The Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo Evoluzione is a machine defined by its contradictions—a boxy sedan hiding a sophisticated, rear-biased transaxle heart. While the base mod by k_p provides a fantastic visual foundation, the physics was used as placeholder on release and miss the “visceral” and temperamental nature of this 1980s homologation special.

This data replacement is a comprehensive overhaul designed to align the car with its real-world engineering targets: a front engine, rear-transaxle beast that demands technical respect.

The Engineering Core

• Suspension: The De Dion Geometry The 75 is nothing without its signature rear end. This rework implements the De Dion axle with surgical precision. Unlike modern independent setups, the De Dion keeps the rear wheels parallel to each other but allows the mass of the differential to be mounted to the chassis. We’ve modeled the exact pivot points and the Watt’s linkage behavior, ensuring the car “sets” into corners with that classic Alfa roll-and-grip sensation.
• Engine: The AR06158 “Bialbero” Under the hood is the homologation-spec 1762cc engine. We’ve moved away from generic power curves to a data-driven power.lut that reflects the high-inertia reality of the Garrett T3 turbo. Expect a sluggish low-end followed by a violent torque hit at 3,000 RPM, peaking at 153 hp before the 8-valve head runs out of breath at the 6,500 RPM limiter.
• Drivetrain: Transaxle Physics The gearbox isn’t just a set of ratios; it’s a massive aluminum housing sitting between the rear wheels. This rework accounts for the rotational inertia of the engine-speed propeller shaft and the three Giubo rubber couplings. The 5-speed manual features period-correct ratios and a factory 25% Limited Slip Differential (LSD) that rewards throttle-steering out of hairpins.

Authentic Constraints

• No ABS Brakes: This is an analog experience. The inboard rear brakes provide a unique challenge—lock them up, and you’re feeling the shock through the entire drivetrain. Brake bias has been tuned to a front-heavy 65% to prevent the light rear end from swapping places with the front under heavy deceleration.
• Period-Correct 15″ Rubber: Forget modern “Semi-Slicks.” We’ve implemented 195/55 R15 physics based on 1987-spec performance compounds (Pirelli P600 logic). The taller sidewalls allow for more “flex” and a communicative slip angle that lets you dance the car on the limit of adhesion.
