McLaren W1: The “Ultimate-1” Performance Rework

The W1 is a rear-wheel-drive masterpiece that challenges the modern trend of AWD hypercars. This physics overhaul implements the complex interplay between its high-revving V8 and the F1-derived E-module, alongside the most advanced active aerodynamics ever fitted to a road car.

MHP-8 Hybrid Powertrain: 1,275 PS Calibration

We have completely rebuilt the hybrid logic to match the new MHP-8 architecture:

  • The High-Revving V8: The 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 has been remapped to produce 916 hp on its own, with a screaming 9,200 RPM redline. The power delivery is visceral, featuring the distinct “flat-plane” character and opposite-rotating turbos.
  • E-Module Integration: The radial flux electric motor adds 342 hp and 440 Nm of instant torque. We have implemented “Torque-Fill” logic that uses the E-module to eliminate lag at low RPMs, providing a total system output of 1,258 bhp (1,275 PS) and 1,340 Nm.
  • Performance Benchmarks: Adjusted the power-to-weight ratio (911 PS/tonne) to achieve the verified 0–200 km/h in 5.8 seconds and 0–300 km/h in <12.7 seconds.
  • 8-Speed DCT: Reworked the transmission to include the E-Reverse (no mechanical reverse gear) and lightning-fast shifts that handle the 1,340 Nm of torque.

Aerocell & Active Long Tail Aerodynamics

The W1 is a “transformer” that generates a staggering 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs) of downforce.

  • Active Long Tail: In “Race Mode,” the rear wing now correctly extends 300mm backwards, significantly expanding the diffuser’s working area. We have simulated this 20% increase in effective underbody length.
  • Ground-Effect Simulation: We have reworked the underbody physics to prioritize ground-effect suction. The car now lowers by 37mm (Front) and 17mm (Rear) in Race Mode, creating a massive vacuum that provides F1-level cornering speeds.
  • Inboard Suspension: Modeled the Race Active Chassis Control III with the heave damper system, preventing the car from bottoming out under its own massive aero load.

Visual & Technical Enhancements

  • Graphical Material Tweaks: Custom ext_config.ini for CSP improves the InnoKnit interior textures and the visible 3D-printed titanium suspension components.
  • Bonus Skins: Included a curated set of extra liveries, ranging from “Launch Orange” to “Heritage F1 GTR” inspired wraps.
  • Brake Logic: Calibrated the Carbon Ceramic Racing+ system to match the incredible 100–0 km/h in 29m stopping distance.

Installation Requirements

Note: This physics and graphics configuration is designed for compatibility with the EX Mods model.

  • Required: A valid installation of the base model by EX Mods is required to apply these technical updates.
  • Included: The 7z archive contains updated dataextensionui, and a folder of extra skins.
  • Method: Replace the folders in your content/cars/mclaren_w1 directory.
