Hennessey Venom F5: The “Fury” V8 Physics Rework
The Hennessey Venom F5 is not just a car; it is an exercise in absolute power. Named after the highest rating on the Fujita hurricane scale, it was designed to be the fastest road-legal car on the planet. While the original 3D model provides a solid visual foundation for this rare hypercar, the physics required a complete overhaul to truly simulate the terrifying performance of the real-world “Fury” V8.
Simulating the “Fury” V8 Powertrain
The heart of our rework focuses on the 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8. In our workshop, we have recalibrated the engine logic to match Hennessey’s official “Fury” specifications:
- Power & Torque: We have re-mapped the torque curve to deliver the staggering 1,817 hp and 1,617 Nm of torque.
- Drivetrain Logic: The power is delivered through a reworked 7-speed automated manual transmission. We have adjusted the shift delays and drivetrain loss to accurately reflect the car’s brutal acceleration profile.
- Custom Traction Control & Launch Control: Because of the extreme power-to-weight ratio, we have implemented a custom traction control script that remains active at all times. This mimics the real car’s struggle to put nearly 2,000 hp through the rear wheels, making it a manageable, yet exhilarating, “untamed beast.”
Aerodynamics and Chassis Dynamics
At speeds exceeding 400 km/h, aerodynamics are the only thing keeping the car on the tarmac. We have meticulously tweaked the aero maps to ensure a realistic downforce balance that matches the Venom’s aggressive body styling.
- Suspension Geometry: The suspension has been entirely reworked to suit the mid-engine hypercar layout, providing the necessary stability for high-speed runs while remaining compliant enough for road-legal use.
- Tire Physics: We have modeled the tires after the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. These represent the road-legal rubber the car uses in reality. While they offer immense grip, they also highlight the car’s raw nature compared to a slick-shod GT3 race car.
- Braking Performance: We have readjusted the brake bias and heat dissipation to handle the massive kinetic energy generated when slowing down from world-record-attempt speeds.
Functional and Visual Updates
To bring this mod up to modern sim-racing standards, we have applied several technical fixes:
- 3D Collider Fix: Corrected the collider data to prevent unrealistic ground clipping and improved collision detection for wheel-to-wheel racing.
- AI Training: We have custom-trained the AI “hints” to ensure computer-controlled drivers can handle this beast’s power delivery without spinning out.
- EXT Config Enhancements: Using the Custom Shaders Patch
ext_config, we have refined the exterior and interior materials, lighting, and small details to maximize the visual fidelity of the ACTK model.
Installation Requirements
Important: This physics and graphics configuration is designed for compatibility with the original mod installed or found on the internet.
