Ferrari SF-25: 2025 Ground Effect & ERS Physics Rework

The Ferrari SF-25 represents the pinnacle of the current Formula 1 regulatory era. While the 3D model (based on the work by Deploy and Senna F1 mods) features incredible details like a scriptable steering wheel display, its original physics lacked the “edge” and technical complexity of the real 2025 contender. Our workshop has completely overhauled the vehicle’s “under-the-skin” logic to bring it up to professional simulation standards.

Mastering Ground Effect & Aerodynamics

The most critical part of the SF-25 rework is the underfloor simulation. In the real 2025 season, the SF-25 was notoriously sensitive to ride height—run it too low, and you risk illegal plank wear; run it too high, and the downforce disappears.

  • Ground Effect Sensitivity: We have recalibrated the aero maps so the car is highly sensitive to its distance from the tarmac. You will now feel a significant loss of suction if the car “stalls” or is lifted too far out of its optimal window.
  • Realistic Downforce: The total downforce figures have been adjusted to match 2025 telemetry, allowing for the extreme high-speed cornering speeds seen at circuits like Silverstone and Spa.

Suspension and Chassis Geometry

While the 3D model does not feature animated suspension, the physics engine now calculates a completely new geometry.

  • Pull-Rod Front Layout: We have simulated the switch from push-rod to pull-rod front suspension, improving the anti-dive characteristics under heavy braking.
  • Update (Dec 2025): We have refined the suspension travel ranges to prevent violent steering wheel “shakes” (clipping) while ensuring the car communicates the texture of the track surface accurately through Force Feedback.

Powertrain and ERS Management

The 1,000 hp hybrid power unit has been retuned for better driveability and endurance.

  • V6 Turbo Hybrid): The 1.6L V6 Turbo has been remapped for realistic torque delivery, and the turbocharger performance has been adjusted to reduce lag.
  • Custom ERS Modes: We have implemented a new “Conservative” Race Mode. This is specifically designed for the AI or for long-distance league races to ensure the MGU-K battery isn’t drained in a single lap, providing a more strategic deployment of hybrid power.
  • 2025 Weight Specs: The car’s curb weight and distribution have been updated to reflect the latest FIA technical regulations.

Visual and Functional Fixes

  • Improved 3D Collider: The physical “box” around the car has been reshaped to match the sleek 3D bodywork, ensuring cleaner wheel-to-wheel racing and more accurate contact with curbs.
  • Livery & Shaders: Using our custom extension configuration, we have enhanced the “Racing Red” matte paint and material shaders to bring out the details of the SF-25’s complex sidepod inlets.

Technical Installation

Note: This physics and graphics configuration is designed for compatibility with the Deploy and Senna F1 mods model.

  • Installation: A valid installation of the base model by Deploy and Senna F1 mods is required to apply these technical updates.
  • Update Log (12/12/25): Added ride-height sensitive aero and corrected steering rack vibration issues.
