BMW M4 Competition (G82): The “S58” Precision Rework

This version is strictly a stock performance overhaul. If you were looking for a 1,000 hp drift missile, this isn’t it. This is for the driver who wants to experience the G82 exactly as it left the showroom in 2021—calculated, grippy, and relentless.

The S58 3.0L Twin-Turbo: 510 PS Calibration

We have meticulously remapped the engine to match the “Competition” spec delivery:

  • Engine & Torque Rework: Calibrated to an authentic 510 PS (503 hp) @ 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. The torque curve is now flat and broad from 2,750 to 5,500 rpm, reflecting the S58’s ability to pull hard through the entire mid-range.
  • Realistic Acceleration: Every aerodynamic and drivetrain value has been tuned to ensure the car hits the 0–100 km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds (RWD spec) and 0–200 km/h in approximately 12.5 seconds.
  • Drivetrain Logic: Adjusted the 8-speed M Steptronic (ZF) ratios. Shifts are now snappy and decisive in the aggressive settings, with the correct gear intervals to maximize the S58’s power band.

Chassis & Handling: Managing the Mass

The G82 is a large car, weighing in at roughly 1,725 kg. The physics now reflect that weight without making the car feel sluggish.

  • Aero & Tires: Updated the tire data for the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (19″ front, 20″ rear). The mechanical grip is high, but the slip angles are realistic, allowing for the classic M-car “oversteer-on-demand” behavior when the traction control is off.
  • Suspension Geometry: Reworked the damping and spring rates to simulate the Adaptive M Suspension. The car now feels more planted during high-speed direction changes, with corrected roll centers that minimize the “boaty” feel of the original mod.
  • Brake Performance: Calibrated the M Compound brakes for consistent stopping power, reflecting their high thermal resistance during track sessions.

Technical Polish & Bugfixes

  • General Bugfixes: Corrected the wheelbase and track width to match factory specifications. Fixed an issue with the fuel consumption being too high and adjusted the internal camera positions for better visibility.
  • UI Update: The UI now reflects the accurate Competition power figures and weight, making it easier to organize within your car list.

Installation Requirements

Note: This physics and graphics configuration is designed for compatibility with the MNBA model.

  • Required: A valid installation of the base model by MNBA is required to apply these technical updates.
  • Included: The 7z archive contains updated data and ui folders.
  • Note: No additional graphics enhancements were made; this update prioritizes driving feel and accuracy.
  • Method: Replace the data (or data.acd) folder in your content/cars/mnba_bmw_m4_g82 directory.
