Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH: The V12 Prototype Rework
The Valkyrie AMR-LMH is a purist’s dream in a field of hybrids. Developed by Aston Martin Performance Technologies and Heart of Racing, it utilizes a race-homologated version of the 6.5L Cosworth V12. This rework transforms the “unrestricted” hypercar physics into a precision-engineered LMH prototype, balanced specifically for multi-class racing.
The Cosworth V12: BoP & Prototype Calibration
Unlike the road car’s 1,100+ hp output, the LMH version must adhere to strict FIA/ACO power curves.
- BOP Engine Mapping: We have reworked the V12 to match the mandated 520 kW (697 hp) limit. The torque curve has been adjusted to be more “linear” and efficient, optimized for the 24-hour stints typical of Le Mans.
- Naturally Aspirated Advantage: Without a hybrid system, the engine configuration has been adjusted to provide instant, raw throttle response. We have modeled the revised valvetrain and “lean-burn” calibration used to improve fuel efficiency in the absence of electrical assistance.
- Xtrac 7-Speed Sequential: The drivetrain has been completely overhauled to represent the Xtrac racing transmission. Shift times and gear ratios are now set to prototype specs, moving away from the “automated manual” feel of the road car.
Prototype Aerodynamics & Handling
The AMR-LMH has a very different aero profile than the high-drag road car.
- Aero Rebalance: We have adjusted the downforce and drag to meet the LMH performance window. The car relies heavily on its underbody venturi tunnels for ground effect, but we have balanced the front splitter and fixed rear wing to ensure high-speed stability without the “porpoising” seen in earlier mod versions.
- Tire Performance Fix: The tire physics have been updated to represent the latest Michelin Pilot Sport slick compounds used in WEC/IMSA. This includes corrected thermal degradation and “cold tire” behavior for more realistic out-laps.
- Suspension Geometry: We have implemented a passive double-wishbone setup with pushrod-actuated torsion bars, replacing the active hydraulic system of the road car. This removes the “bounciness” over kerbs and provides the stiff, predictable platform required for endurance racing.
AI & Technical Polish
- Reworked AI: The AI has been recalibrated to understand the Valkyrie’s unique braking points (which are earlier than hybrid cars due to lack of regenerative braking) and its superior mid-corner rotation, resulting in much cleaner multi-class racing.
- Graphics & Extension: Using CSP, we have enhanced the cockpit display with prototype-specific telemetry, added realistic exhaust glow, and fixed the “shadow-clipping” issues at high speeds.
- Corrected Weight: Adjusted the car’s mass to the regulated 1,030 kg (base), ensuring the power-to-weight ratio is perfectly in line with RSS prototype cars.
Installation Requirements
Note: This physics and graphics configuration is designed for compatibility with the TRR v2 model.
- Required: A valid installation of the base model by TRR v2 is required to apply these technical updates.
- Targeting: Balanced to race against the RSS MP-H series (Hypercar class).
- Method: Drop the
dataandextensionfolders into your car directory and overwrite.
